This was the first instructional video that I saw, but I believe that it is one of the best. Filled with highlights from competitive tournament play, computer animation, and shots from different camera angles, this video is helpful to understand the different spins and strokes used to master the game. I believe that this video is essential for both beginners and advanced players for reasons for both. For beginners this video is good because the different types of strokes and service types are clearly and concisely explained in a very understandable way. As for the advanced player, this video may be helpful to refresh your memory on these various techniques.

That's all I have to say about this video. It's USEFUL. REALLY REALLY useful. It has several levels of explanations, different visual approachs, wonderful videos, wonderful footage from actual international competitions. It's complete and USEFUL. You'll learn a lot of new table tennis tricks. I highly recommend it!

For me, the best parts were the tips about the best times (high/low, soon/late) to make contact against various types of shots, and also the computer-generated animated graphics in the parts about generating and dealing with spin.Watching it helped my game more than a new sheet of rubber!

If you have never had any coaching before, this video is worth the money, especially if you are an amateur like me who just wants to improve their game. It starts with the basics like how to hold the bat - (I didnt hold mine correctly) but quickly moves on to more meaty stuff. It was the right level for a good amateur who wants to move beyond wacking the ball and who wants to get consistency and to win games a bit more often. Has many good tips, it is arguably better value than a human coach if only because you can watch it many times and pick up new stuff each time.. As a result of watching this video I have corrected a couple of basic bad habits. Having a good "ready position" means you are less likely to try to play a backhand shot when a forhand shot would have been a better option. Starting a shots too early was another bad habit of mine - but its good to know I share these bad habits with just about everyone else!

It's hard for me to compare this with other instructional table tennis DVDs because this is the first one I've tried. After shopping around, my distinct impression is that the market is not exactly flooded with products. The best thing I can say about this DVD is that it acutally gave me some pointers that I found useful immediately...especially under neutral position, timing and consistency. Stuff that is fairly commonsensical but just helped to have spelt out in black-and-white. However, there were some minuses (and potential minuses - depending on what you are looking for) as well. For one thing, it doesn't go into much depth or analysis. More along the lines of, "okay here is topspin versus backspin" then hit the ball back and forth a few times to show example and then, "okay here is topspin versus block" etc... Actually, I didn't think it needed anything more - and I guess that's why they call it advanced table tennis...but just a warning. Also, the production value won't knock your socks off - but did you expect any different? My biggest complaint actually (rather petty) is that the coach, Christian Lilleroos, doesn't turn his microphone off during the exercises....which means you get groans, gasps, heavy breathing on the soundtrack. Now I'm not someone who is against heavy breathing on DVD soundtracks - but not on instructional table tennis DVDs thanks. The whole thing is fairly sparse but it tells you what you need and covers it fairly well.

I picked up a copy of this set of DVDs overseas and I was not disappointed when I finally sat down to watch it. Each DVD covers one period of the history of Table Tennis and liberally adds in rare footage of actual games played as far back as half a century ago. The content stops short of the modern era, ending right around the ascent of Liu Guoliang, but it's still incredible in scope. That said there are several fairly large criticisms with this documentary. 1. It's entirely in Mandarin. If you do not understand Chinese, you'll probably want to pass unless you're really interested in the footage. 2. As you might expect from the title of the series, it entirely focuses on the Chinese development of the sport. There is virtually no content from before the Chinese began to win their first international championships. 3. Being an official production, it's remarkably sanitized. This documentary generally steers clear of the history of repression during the Cultural Revolution. In any event, there are better sources concerning tragic histories of Ruo Guotuan and the others. Criticisms aside, this remains a great collection of some rather rare footage.

I play ping-pong at work, for fun (or so I say...). I bought this paddle since the ones at lose quality since they're used so often, and abused. I've been very happy with this purchase. It was inexpensive, but feels like a quality made paddle. It has a beautiful sound, and I don't have anything negative to report about it. Game on, friends!

The idea of paying less than twenty bucks for a table tennis racket, well, most of us occasionally serious players really wouldn't want to experiment with it. I mean, the more money one spends, the better his game should be, right? So why buy a $19 racket when you can buy one for a hundred bucks or more? I wanted to see what this could do. The one thing I noticed about this paddle is the control. Much better than any other racket I own. I like to spin the ball. A lot! But I do give up control by purchasing and using those rackets. This one spins but still, I have far more control over where I want to put the ball. Even more control on returning slams. I am impressed and will be using this a lot.

Good solid intermediate TT racket for both defensive and offensive play. Racket is light enough for quick response. Rubber produces enough spin for good control without excessive effort. Racket construction absorbs energy making return shots more predictable.

This was a promotion from standard issue rackets that came with the ping pong table. Ever since I have had this, the quality of my serves, shots and rally's have improved significantly. The amount of spin I get is phenomenal. Also it helps me have better control over where my shots and returns are placed especially with high top-spins. Overall it has motivated me to play the game more often that I have done before.

This racket is only good for beginners, that is, children starting to play table tennis, and adults playing for fun. If you wish to start playing table tennis on a slightly more advanced level, then the purchase of this racket should be skipped.

Total crap!!!!!!!!!!! NOT even ping pong balls, they are made of a lighter flimsy plastic that hardly bounces. I bought these in hope of making a cheap smoke bomb that would work fairly well, but as I said you need ping pong balls to make smoke bombs!!!!

I am in a shooting competition,and they are just what I needed to practice,seeing as how I bust about 10 a day.The usual ping pong balls were actually too tough for my own purpose. These are great and will last until July when I will shoot for the prizes.

The arrived very quickly and were in great shape. None were crushed at time of arrival. they were beautifully white and bounced very well.

Great investment. So many balls for so cheap. If you wanna play a lot of beer pong, get these.

Nice cover and works well if table is folded but it does not work very well when the table is open. It won't lay flat on the table and corners easily blow up with wind. The color also faded in only a couple of weeks as it now has a pinkish hue to it. When the table is folded it is also a bit too wide, so overall not ideal. I ordered it because it was the only alternative are blue covers that are an eyesore. So in conclusion, it is more discreet than the bright blue covers but not very practical if you want to keep yout table in the open position.

This is the nicest cover out there for your Ping Pong table. Also you can unzip this cover so it covers the table in the flat position as well. Bought other covers in the past and they do not last more than 1 year in the outdoors. Also with the other light weight covers, when windy the cover blows right off. This one here is heavy and durable. Highly recommended!

Delivery is fast. Product is good but you do need pay attention to table corner and sharp edge when putting on or removing off to avoid the cover material being ripped. I agree with someone's review that wishing the cover is a foot longer. People also mentioned that you need to weight down the corners when table covered in an open playing position. You can easily solve this problem by using office binder clips to clip the drop down flap together with the extra over the table baseline. The cover is barely long enough for you to do this. Cover is for keeping dust away and definite not for weather proof.

The cover is made of quality materials and would be good for any table that folds up as shown in the first picture. But I do not recommend for non-folding tables. I did not zoom in on the picture of the cover on the flat table, until after I received it. I have a table top for my pool table, so it does not fold up. This cover does not lay flat on a flat table. And you need to remove the net before placing it on the table. Amazon allowed me to return it. It is a good cover otherwise.

We ordered this because our tennis table sits outside by the pool all season.It's a little big, but better than too samll. The only problem is that it faded A LOT and looks dry. No cracks yet, but I don't think it will last for too many seasons. We store it indoors over the winter, but I expected better quality for the price.
