Kettler Ping Pong Tables

Kettler Match 5.0 Outdoor Table Tennis Table (Blue Top)ReviewsIt took two of us about three hours to put this table together. I would have taken a lot less time were the instructions better worded and illustrated. The finished product is terrific. Its the third table weve bought over the years and this make is our favourite. Previously we paid to have the table put together - for a few hundred dollars. What we saved in money we lost in sweat stress and anger. Surely the head of the instructions dept at Kettler could hire a better translator and illustrator! Reading the reviews prior to buying this table, I figured I was in for a nightmare assembly process. While it did take me almost 4 hours, I didn't think it was unreasonably hard. Maybe they (Kettler) have improved the instructions since the other reviews were written. Yes, it's a hundred pieces if you count every nut and bolt. And yes, a few washers and bolts don't match their illustrations in the assembly guide, but really there was no question about which ones replaced them... nothing else would fit. And yes, there are only illustrations to follow for the most part, but it was actually pretty easy... I used two pairs of pliers (crescent wrenches would have been better) and two screwdrivers. It wasn't totally clear to me how to put two braces on at the beginning so I took my best guess and got it wrong. It was a 5-minute fix at most. If I was giving assembly advice, I'd say don't tighten things up until you have the whole thing pieced together. And it helps to have another person hold the table up at one point, for maybe 5 minutes until things are secure again. Otherwise, it's a one-person job. As for the quality, I'm really impressed with the fit and all... not to sound like an ad, but I guess I would describe it as German engineered (since it is). Nylon washers, specially-designed bolts, and the plastic pieces seem like they're going to last awhile, even outdoors. But I just finished building this thing... how it holds up is a future review. I bought a Kettler blue top all weather ping pong table in 1996 or so. We use it outdoors but pull it into a garage when we are not using it. The only thing we have had to do is replace the nets as they wear out after a while. The table itself is still like new. This item costs more than some other tables, but if you plan on keeping it for a long time it is worth the difference and then some. Though it says nothing about it in the product description, this table comes in over 100 pieces. The instructions are quite poor. Most images have no verbiage detailing what the diagrams refer to, individual parts have changed without the instructions being updated, and English is an afterthought and poorly translated. The overall experience so far has been terrible. Several parts don't fit and the instructions say ridiculous things like, "To do this (step) the braces for the frame must be bent slightly to the side. Proceed with care when doing this." Really? I am about 1.5 hours into putting it together. And I expect it will take another 4 hours at this rate. About 60% of the time is trying to understand what the instructions refer to -- 20% of the time is trying to find the correct parts because many bolts have been substituted without updating the instructions. Once you know what to do, it's probably 10% of the time in effort. So you'll probably only spend 1 hour actually working on it IF you have the correct tools. Two small wrenches are provided but you will need your own flat head, Phillips, rubber mallet or hammer, and ratchet set (because the little wrenches provided are not very efficient). Of course, the description does not mention this. I suggest a power screw driver -- many of the screws (an bolts) are 40 - 60 MM -- that's a lot of twisting ;-) Anyone can go to their local sporting goods store and purchase an assembled table for 1/2 the price. So far "German quality" is a complete rip off and there is absolutely no value that I can see over a model of 1/2 the price with the SOLE exception that the bottom of the table is supported with metal to prevent warping of the top. Other than that -- it's a ping pong table in pieces that you're on your own putting together. And it costs 3 times any others. I'm going to put a few more hours into it and then update. Kettler Match 5.0 Indoor Table Tennis Table (Blue Top)ReviewsThis beautiful ping pong table has been delivered twice and twice had to be returned. The box arrived both times damaged in more than one place and I had the driver open the box. The pieces started falling out right away and the second time a large cut had damaged the table. Very unfortunate. It's now almost 1 1/2 months later and I still don't have my ping pong table. Average Rating:![]() |

Kettler 7096-100 VARIO Table Tennis NetReviewsThis is a great product. It took me about 3 minutes to install it because two of these 3 minutes I was thinking that I can do it without reading a one page manual (90% is doable without looking at a manual page, but one final step - how to fasten and secure the remaining string - better read that page :-)) Since then - I just enjoy it (I suffered cheaper nets for many years while was wandering why such a simple thing as ping-pong net binding cannot be "improved"). This net looks great and works great. Just a wonderful product. We are very happy with this net, it fits perfectly, very sturdy and higher quality material. Makes the table look great. My advice is to stick with the clamp grip posts so they can be used on any table without any problems or having to make a home made adjustment just to make it fit. We tried to replace an old net on Kettler table with a cheaper variety but it sagged and we had no ability to tighten as necessary. So it is worth paying extra to get this style for the Kettler table. This net works perfect on Kettler tables, just don't leave it in the sun or it will rot Average Rating:![]() |
